1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a Prep account or using any Prep service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Prep on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Eligibility
You must be 13+ to create a Prep account (16+ in the EU/UK; 18+ where local law requires). Minors must have a verifiable parent/guardian consent on file. We may refuse service to anyone for any reason consistent with applicable law.
3. Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us within 24 hours of any suspected unauthorised access (security@prep.app). We will not be liable for losses caused by your failure to do so.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) cheat on exams or facilitate cheating; (b) scrape, mirror, or republish paid content; (c) reverse-engineer the apps to bypass anti-cheat; (d) interfere with service operation; (e) upload unlawful, harassing, or infringing content; (f) impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation; (g) use Prep to spam or solicit.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
Paid plans auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at period end. Refunds: 7-day no-questions refund on first-time paid subscriptions; pro-rated refunds on annual plans cancelled within 30 days. Disputed charges should first be raised at billing@prep.app.
6. Content licensing
You retain ownership of content you submit (notes, posts, MCQs you author). By submitting, you grant Prep a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute, and create derivative works strictly for operating and improving the service. You may delete your content at any time, which terminates that licence going forward (cached/back-up copies may persist for up to 90 days).
7. Intellectual property
Prep, the Prep logo, the catalogue structure, the software, and all original content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by IP laws. Past-year exam questions are reproduced under fair-dealing / fair-use provisions of the applicable jurisdiction with proper attribution.
8. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy at /privacy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Anti-cheat and integrity
During paid mocks, certificate exams, or tournaments, Prep may employ proctoring techniques (camera, mic, screen-share, behavioural analytics) disclosed to you before the session. We do not enable these in normal practice. Bypass attempts may result in result invalidation, account suspension, and forfeiture of fees.
10. Termination
You may terminate by deleting your account from Settings → Account → Delete. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical. On termination, your data is retained 30 days then permanently deleted (subject to legal hold).
11. Disclaimers
Prep is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim, to the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of exam predictions, and uninterrupted operation. Educational outcomes depend on you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prep's aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Prep harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the service.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the user's country of residence for consumer matters. For business accounts, the laws of the State of Delaware, USA apply. Disputes are first attempted to be resolved by informal negotiation (60 days). Binding arbitration thereafter, individually, no class actions, except where prohibited by local law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email and in-app 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
